About Me...
I am an economist studying the causes and consequences of economic development. My research examines how globalization and technology shape structural transformation in the Global South, especially in Africa. Beyond academia, I regularly engage in policy advice, public speaking, writing, and teaching.
I am a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area studies (GIGA), where I also coordinate a research project on Sustainable Global Supply Chains. I am currently also a Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute and an Associate Fellow at the African Urban Lab of the African School of Economics.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Goettingen. My doctoral thesis examined “Structural Change, Foreign Investment, and Labour Markets in Developing Economies”.
Welcome To My Website
This website brings together my research, including both academic and policy writing, on a range of development topics. It also hosts a personal blog, where I write short essays on the role of globalization and technology in African development.
